We've been married for 15 years.
And here's what we know:
When we met, there was an immediate knowing between us.
Within six months, we were married, had bought a house, had two dogs and had completely rearranged our lives around one another.
We've always adored each other.
And we've also had to learn how to tell each other the truth.
We've navigated wounds around intimacy, rejection, trust, sexuality and vulnerability. We've misunderstood each other, made assumptions and withheld things because saying them felt scarier than keeping them inside.
Some of the greatest breakthroughs in our marriage have happened because one of us became brave enough to ask a question and the other became brave enough to answer it honestly.
One conversation can change the trajectory of a relationship.
We've experienced it more than once.
And after 15 years, our relationship and our sex life aren't becoming less alive.
They're becoming more alive.
Because I've never been married to the same Rudi for 15 years.
I've been married to many versions of him.
And he's been married to many versions of me.
The question is whether we're willing to keep discovering each other.
